Alone is a melancholy, moody solo in the guitar friendly key of E minor. In writing this solo, I made use of different voicings and alterations of the basic E minor chord. Also of interest to the performer is the alternation between chordal passages and the linear, single note interludes. The solo should be played freely, at a slow tempo and with maximum expression and feeling. This solo appears in my new solo collection, Guitar Meditations (MB22029) just released by Mel Bay.
