Here it is November, and it's not going to be too long before the holidays are upon us. I get lots of emails from pickers each year saying that they are going to be playing in a holiday event and that they need to learn an appropriate resonator guitar tune. Best to go ahead and get started on that now so you can have one ready for when the time comes! I'm going to teach you the first of two Christmas tunes starting this month, adding another in the December column. This month I will show you one of my favorite holiday tunes "Away in a Manger"

Now that we are approaching the holiday season, it's not too early to be putting together that Christmas wish list. Be sure to include some cool new resonator guitar supplies- maybe a new strap, bar, capo or a new Mel Bay instruction book or video. Maybe even my new DVD Phil Leadbetter's Dobro Workshop. All of these are small enough to fit in a stocking. Hope the holidays are a great time for you and your family, and for you with your resonator guitar!
