The 2006 Pierre Bensusan USA Residential Guitar Seminar will be hold on July 7,8 & 9, 2006
An Approach to Music for Acoustic Guitar
The seminar will take place in Oxnard, located in between Santa Monica and Santa Barbara, in a private house by the sea, on the Oxnard beach, a few miles away from shops, restaurants and lodging.
These classes are based on a large concept which is beyond any style, to fulfill the process of playing to express music on the instrument. This is analysed and optimized by going deeper into various right and left hand techniques, posture, exercises, rhythmic attention, tone and expression. Pierre will also address and answer questions about the how of his compositions and arrangements.
Open to a maximum of 20 students, there will be 15 hours of group lessons throughout the week-end, starting on July 7th and finishing on July 9th. Lessons will be held from 9:30am to 12:30 and from 2:30 to 5:30pm, on Friday and Saturday, and from 10:00am to 1:00pm on Sunday. When not in class, people study individually and collectively. Pierre looks after each student in his progression, and his comments addressed individually are also shared with the rest of the group. Quite interactive all together.
From intermediate to advanced level: this 2 and 1/2 day day long session, is open to a maximum of 20 amateur and professional guitarists, from various musical horizons, whether it is acoustic, classical, or electric, and whatever the tuning people are familiar with. Pierre asks that his students can, at least, read the tablature and if possible music notation. If not, no worries, lots of ear training will be involved anyway. No audition tape is required.
