Vic Juris’ career has had him playing with the likes of Dizzy Gillespie, Phil Woods, Jimmy Smith, Sarah Vaughan, Chico Hamilton, Dave Liebman, Richie Cole, Mel Torme, Eddie Jefferson and Nancy Wilson. Juris is also one of the leading jazz educators throughout the world. He currently teaches at The New School for Social Research,

Rutgers University and Lehigh University. He has conducted clinics throughout the US and Europe.

His second Mel Bay Publication Inside/Outside offers 15 play-along solos. Each piece is based on the changes of popular jazz standards and will serve as great etudes for learning advanced jazz soloing techniques. Students will be able to see how to build a solo, use tension and release ("outside" and "inside" playing), build an advanced jazz vocabulary, and develop a motive through a set of changes though careful study of these solos. Each etude has two play-along tracks found on the companion CD. One track is with Vic playing the solos found in the book and the other track is with rhythm section only.

These original play-along modern jazz guitar solos are a phenomenal tool for all aspiring jazz guitar players.
